Stop Veolia in Lincoln

The public meeting called by concerned residents in Lincoln was full tonight, as people turned out to hear how local people are coming together to object to Veolia’s plans. The French owned company has submitted plans to Lincolnshire County Council to change the use of it’s site off Long Leys Road in Lincoln. Once the outskirts of town, Long Leys Road is now a thriving residential community, and not the place to build a large, 24hr a day waste processing plant.

In a move which surprised many and outraged a few, Veolia failed to send a representative.

Welcome

An information portal about the proposed Veolia Waste Transfer facility, Lincoln.

Update: In January 2018 Veolia abandoned their appeal against planning refusal. As part of this withdrawal process StopVeolia (& LLRA) were awarded costs against Veolia, due to their unreasonable behaviour. We are hopeful that Veolia have realised that the activity they proposed is inappropriate in our community. LLRA hold a legal defence fund of circa £12,000 in the event that Veolia re-apply.
